Maritime Greenwich is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and much of SE10 falls under Article 2(3) designated land, which halves the standard permitted-development allowances — meaning fence height limits that apply elsewhere in the borough can be tighter here. Combined with Greenwich's 23 conservation areas and multiple Article 4 directions, including West and East Greenwich, a straightforward-looking fence replacement can trigger consent requirements that catch homeowners off guard. Billy and Vincent check WHS and Article 4 status before quoting any Greenwich job, not after. In practice, that means we treat a Greenwich quote differently depending on which side of the WHS boundary a garden sits. Inside it, we default to traditional closeboard or featheredge styles at standard height and flag the Article 2(3) restriction up front rather than assuming the usual 2-metre allowance applies.
